The Vitrine
INTIMATE / FOCUSEDA quieter setting for an individual voice. We imagine solo presentations, photography, works on paper and carefully considered conversations between a few works.
After many years, van den Berg Galeria Sztuki returns. A familiar eye for art. An entirely new way to experience it.
Discover what comes next↘A gallery is made of the encounters that happen inside it.
At Emilii Plater 12, those encounters brought together artists, collectors and friends. After a long pause, that spirit returns in a different form: virtual exhibitions, created with Cloudly Culture, that you will be able to visit wherever you are.
We are preparing two spaces, The Vitrine and The Foundry, for a changing programme of art and ideas. The rooms are taking shape. The next invitation is still to come.
In collaboration with Cloudly Culture↗Two distinct virtual galleries. Each with its own rhythm, scale and way of bringing you closer to the work.
A quieter setting for an individual voice. We imagine solo presentations, photography, works on paper and carefully considered conversations between a few works.
Room for a wider dialogue. We imagine group exhibitions, larger works, sculpture and shows that make the space itself part of the experience.
These images are AI-enhanced architectural previews based on our actual virtual rooms. The programme and exhibition installations are still being prepared.
Spatial storytelling and virtual visits, with room to pause, explore and discover art in your own time.
Openings that became conversations. Artists who became friends. A photographic journey through the gallery’s Warsaw years and the exhibitions beyond its walls.

Wojciech Fangor came to the gallery to meet a younger generation of painters. In Joanna Rusinek’s account, his humour quickly put everyone at ease: he had come to talk about art, rather than deliver a lecture.
Two photographs preserve that encounter: the conversation in the room, and the artists gathered around him. A moment that belongs at the heart of this gallery’s story.
Each chapter keeps its photographs, artists and history together. Open an exhibition to see the full selection, photographer credits and original archive links.
A living archive, assembled from the gallery’s original Facebook albums and contemporary exhibition records. Dates on individual photographs refer to archive publication dates unless an event date is explicitly given.

After many years, I’m returning to the gallery.
The photographs here remind me why I began: the artists, the conversations, and the pleasure of sharing work that deserves to be seen. Today, through Cloudly Culture, I can imagine a gallery whose doors reach much further.
The Vitrine and The Foundry are the beginning of that idea. There is still work to do, but it feels good to be preparing an exhibition again.
